BMT Asia Pacific provides advice on management systems for safe and efficient port operations, enabling our customers to maintain marine risk at acceptable levels.

The goal of all marine studies carried out by BMT Asia Pacific is to ensure that ships have safe and efficient access to a given port and are not subject to undue delays or risk. Operational limits on wind, current and waves can be set, as can such items as safe passing speeds near moored ships at jetties, tug usage and approach channel or swinging area design. The direct benefits of our marine studies include:

We have a number of specialist design tools at our disposal, including the BMT-developed REMBRANDT (navigation simulations), Orcaflex and Optimoor (static and dynamic mooring studies), and further in-house developed tools for performing berth utilisation studies and simulations of operations.

BMT Asia Pacific can further assess risks associated with the operations of a terminal through HAZIDs, HAZOPs, and Quantified Risk Assessments (QRAs). The consequences for each identified hazard scenario would typically be established by using internationally recognised risk modelling software.
