    Sarah Kenny

    Chief Executive

    Sarah joined BMT on 1st August 2017 and comes from QinetiQ, with deep knowledge of the maritime defence and commercial sectors. As an active mentor, and a STEM ambassador, she’s passionate about developing people to help them realise their potential. Sarah’s latest role at QinetiQ saw her establish and lead the Maritime, Land & Weapons business as Managing Director, reporting to the Group CEO. She has a solid track record of delivering customer success and strong business performance, whilst harnessing innovation through rapid development and exploitation of ideas and technology.

    Sarah is very proud to be an Honorary Officer of the Royal Navy.

  • Jeremy Berwick

    Jeremy Berwick

    Managing Director, Defence

    Jeremy joined BMT from Deloitte where he was a Consulting Partner and Sector Leader for the firm’s UK Aerospace & Defence business.

    He has enjoyed a 30 year career initially serving as an engineering officer on HM Submarines and since then predominantly A&D businesses and their customers including the MoD, Home Office, Rolls-Royce, Meggitt, Cobham, NATS, BAE Systems, QinetiQ, Lockheed Martin and Bristow.

    He has board level working relationships at many of these organisations and a strong record of delivering innovative solutions including risk/reward arrangements, joint ventures and cloud based managed services.

  • David Bright, Sector Director for Defence

    David Bright

    Managing Director, Commercial Shipping

    David Bright has been with BMT since 2001, made Director of Operations at BMT Sigma in 2003 and Managing Director of BMT Hi-Q Sigma in 2010. During this time BMT David played a key role in driving business improvement and supporting the delivery of high value, complex programmes for the UK Ministry of Defence. In particular, he chaired reviews of some of the largest UK defence programmes and was responsible for developing and advising on the partnering approaches used during the second refit period of HMS Illustrious, recognised as being the ‘Gold Standard’ by the National Audit Office.

    In 2013 David was appointed as the Sector Director, Defence for the BMT group and, on the management reorganisation in 2016 moved to his current role.

  • Deryck Ethelston

    Deryck Ethelston

    Managing Director, Ports, Infrastructure and Resources

    Deryck is a Chartered Engineer with B.SC (Hons) in Civil Engineering and M.Sc in Maritime Engineering. Deryck has 27 years’ experience working in various geographical regions in the world responsible for civil maritime projects from concept through design, evaluation and costing to construction.

    Deryck has a record of leadership and delivery in large multi-disciplinary projects. Deryck also has over 18 years’ experience as Company Director in a variety of business sectors, where he has ensured rigorous governance discipline including clear strategic direction and appropriate risk management are upheld.

  • Trudy Gray

    Trudy Grey

    Group General Counsel and Company Secretary

    Trudy Grey has been Group General Counsel and Company Secretary of BMT Group Ltd since 2015. She qualified as a solicitor in London at Stephenson Harwood LLP, before joining Clyde & Co LLP a year later where she worked for 11 years in the London office, latterly in the Marine and International Trade Group. Trudy then moved in house to SBM Offshore in Monaco, an engineering company providing floating production solutions to the offshore energy industry, where she had the roles of Deputy General Counsel and also Legal Manager of the Monaco Regional Office.

  • David McSweeney, Finance Director at BMT Group

    David McSweeney

    Finance Director

    With over 27 years’ experience as a chartered accountant, David McSweeney was appointed Finance Director in 2001.

    David enjoyed a successful accountancy career as a senior audit and corporate finance partner at Baker Tilly. He has helped many different types of business and specialised in people businesses within the design, engineering and technology and property sectors, both as a trusted advisor and as a non-executive Director. His extensive experience of corporate finance and treasury matters has ranged from small owner managed businesses to large public listed companies in the FTSE 100 and on NASDAQ. David was a finalist in the Institute of Directors’ 2012 “Director of the Year – large company section” and is a 3rd Dan black belt in karate. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and served as a member of the Technical and Practical Auditing Committee providing guidance to the profession.

  • Anne Segall, director of HR, development and training

    Anne Segall

    Group HR Director

    Anne Segall was appointed Group HR Director in 2010, having previously worked with the group as a management consultant. She is responsible for the delivery of the HR Group Strategy. Previously Anne ran her own consultancy offering management consultancy and leadership training, based on her experience of organisational development during 12 years in HR, consultancy and training at the BBC. During this time she worked across BBC departments with senior managers and union representatives on the major project to change the BBC's culture, financial reporting and organisational focus and direction. Anne is co-author of Finding The Right Job published by BBC Books.

    Guy Tomlinson

    Group Capability & Strategy Director

    Guy joins BMT from QinetiQ where he led a 35-strong business development team as UK Sales Director. He has a wealth of experience across
    the maritime, defence, cyber and information and training domains, as well as leading on several sales and business development transformation
    programmes.

  • Paul Wilkinson

    Paul Wilkinson

    Managing Director, Environment

    Paul has over 18 years of water and environmental consultancy experience across Australia, South East Asia and the UK, having served in a range of leadership roles with Halcrow, URS and most recently, CH2M Hill as Private Sector Water Manager for the Asia Pacific Region.

    Through his various roles, Paul has demonstrated his ability to lead and grow an organisation successfully by developing and implementing a clear business strategy, adopting a client-centric approach to business development, empowering managers and staff to reach their potential, and actively promoting intra-organisational collaboration.
