Vetting and Fleet Compliance

Several of the world’s largest shipping lines call upon the services of BMT to provide specialist advice and audits to promote safety, operational efficiency and protection of their assets.

BMT can help through risk assessments, writing specific audit programmes, review of procedures, ship vetting services, on board audits and data collection and trend analyses.

BMT has assisted in development of the survey form which was eventually adopted by several P&I Clubs.

360 Quality

BMT is fully authorised under the 360 Quality Association’s rules to perform audits on specialised reefer ships and cold store terminals. The Association requires the specialised reefer vessels and terminals to be audited and certified according to the Association’s own guidelines.

Vessel Condition Surveys

BMT is able to accept any instruction to determine the condition of any type of vessel worldwide. Our surveyors are able to offer entry and condition surveys for P&I and H&M insurance, surveys for company compliance, sale and purchase surveys, condition surveys for valuation, cargo hold cleanliness inspections, ultrasonic hatch cover testing, delivery / redelivery surveys, engine room and office management and condition surveys.

Tanker and Terminal Safety

BMT is a member of INTERTANKO and has a dedicated team of tanker specialists with extensive practical experience in tanker operations for many years at different command levels on board seagoing vessels and in senior management positions at storage terminals.

One of the world’s largest oil traders uses BMT’s expertise to assess and manage the risks occurring during Ship-to-Ship and Ship-to-Shore transfers.

BMT has developed a three day tanker and terminal course giving participants an exclusive view into the transport, handling and operational proceedings of liquid products.

These services are provided by our specialist operating company in the UK, Netherlands and Belgium.
