The Requirement
Gali Batu Depot is a 21-hectare at-grade depot located along Woodlands Road, stretching from the junction of Kranji Expressway to Kwong Hou Sua Teochew Cemetery opposite Sungei Kadut Avenue. It is situated at the north end of the 16.6km Downtown Line Stage 2.
This new depot will house the Operation Control Centre and provide stabling, maintenance, operations and support facilities for Downtown Line Stages 1 and 2.
The scope of works under System Assurance (SA) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) was awarded to BMT by a joint venture comprising GS Engineering and Construction Corporation of Korea and Hock Lian Seng Infrastructure Pte Ltd of Singapore.
Our Approach
BMT conducted a series of system safety activities and an electromagnetic interference assessment to identify and analyse related hazards, suggested safeguards for mitigation, and monitored the progress of the mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
We integrated our work with the processes of design, manufacturing & procurement, testing and commissioning (T&C), trial running, defect liability period (DLP) of the Electrical and Mechanical (E&M) Services with respect to C911 specification requirements.
Outcomes and Benefits
BMT’s experienced team provided the following deliverables to the customer:
- Potential operability and electromagnetic interference hazards were identified and recorded;
- Mitigation measures were recommended for the design and construction works and all identified issues were addressed and managed through a high quality Hazard Log management system;
- Developed and managed a live document, EMC Compliance Matrix, to indicate the E&M equipment EMC compliance status.
