The goal of all marine studies carried out by BMT is to ensure that ships have safe and efficient access to a given port and are not subject to undue delays or risk. Operational limits on wind, current and waves can be set, as can such items as safe passing speeds near moored ships at jetties, tug usage and approach channel or swinging area design.
