The Requirement
The development of Liantang-Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point (BCP) marks one of the seven major infrastructure projects involving the partnership between Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macau, under the 12th National Five-Year Plan.
Comprising site formation works for about 23 hectares of land, it also marks the seventh land based Hong Kong-Shenzhen boundary control points, providing greater efficiency of cross-border movement of passengers and goods to between Hong Kong and the eastern part of Shenzhen, as well as eastern parts of Guangdong and neighbouring provinces.
One of the goals of the BCP project is to enhance infrastructure development between Hong Kong and Shenzhen with a view to uplift the design standard and passenger experience as well as facilitating the need of cross-boundary students coming to Hong Kong every day.
